Undermountain Farm specializes in beginners of any age but we can accommodate riders of all levels. We make a special effort to have friendly, reliable and versatile school horses.
We welcome visitors, but please do not feed or touch the horses or enter their stalls or pastures without a supervising staff member! Please keep your dog in your car or on a short leash. Dogs are not permitted to run loose on the farm.
Lessons & Riding
Undermountain Farm is proud to have several skilled licensed instructors. Please call 413-637-3365 at least 5 days in advance to schedule your lesson. The calendar can be quite full at times.
Our instructors start new riders with a 1/2 hour private lesson (cost $45) which enables them to evaluate their needs and skill. Riders may continue with private lessons or can join group lessons with riders of a similar level. All prices are for both group and private lessons.

- Lesson Cards $450 (Buy 10 lessons and get 1 free) Expires in 1 year.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Any lesson cancelled day-of WILL be charged for a full lesson. Due to a tight lesson schedule, any lesson that is delayed due to tardiness will have to shortened in order to not delay further lessons, and will remain the same price.
$40 Fee for any returned checks.
Pony rides are available most of the time. The cost is $25 for 15 minutes. To be safe please call ahead.
Intro to Trail Riding
UMF has many lovely trails. Trail rides are led by a qualified instructor. For novice riders we will spend 30 minutes in the riding ring and 30 minutes on the trail. Cost is $80 per person for the hour. Some weight restrictions may apply. Trail rides are seasonal and generally run April – October weather permitting. We are also currently limited to 3 people per trail ride due to availability of horses.
Trail Riding – Experienced Riders Only

You will be sure to enjoy a leisurely ride and see nature at it’s best. Some weight restrictions may apply. Children must be at least 12 years old to go on a trail ride.Trail rides are seasonal and generally run April – October weather permitting. Family or Group Package
This package offers a great opportunity, whether it be for the whole family or just a group of friends, to learn the basics of horse care and riding. The cost is $50 per person for the 1.5 to 2 hour session which includes grooming, tacking and horse care for riders of all levels. Generally the groups are 3-6 riders, but larger groups will be considered.

Board your horse at Undermountain Farm
We offer many levels of horse care. We offer full care regular board for $700 per month (this includes hay, grain, worming, stall cleaning and turn in and out). Training board can be arranged with the barn manager. Please call with any questions.
